Common Loon nest (#64519642)

What a sight it is to view a nest of the Common Loon in a Cascade Mountain lake west of the Cascade Crest. The nest is typically built on top of a downed tree snag in the water, comprised of moss and very small twigs. This nest had one beautiful egg safely resting in it while the mother was out on the lake feeding. Cascade Mountains, Washington.
