A Horned Lark roams about at nearly 7000' elevation in the pumice soils on Garland Peak. This arctic wandering bird can nest at these high elevations in the Pacific Northwest, where it is a more common wintering visitor in the Columbia Basin. Glacier Peak Wilderness, Washington.
