WA Ground Squirrels (#71687189)

Not endangered to the level of protection, the Washington Ground Squirrel is a candidate species of concern and work is being done to help re-establish populations in the few last native lands not farmed in the Columbia Basin. Here part of a population, including young baby pups, actively are seen outside their burrows thanks to a private tour from a WDFW biologist at the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge, Washington.
