Gray Wolf eating bison (#81483288)

The wonderful recovery story of the reintroduction of Gray Wolves in the Yellowstone ecosystem has resulted in almost 200 wolves in the park as of 2005. Many packs reside in the Lamar Valley with one or two packs in the Hayden Valley. Here an alpha male is eating on a bison carcass near the Yellowstone River in the Hayden Valley.
